mr N.M. van Dijk
Education
Nick van Dijk studied notarial law at the University of Groningen from 2000 to 2005. In addition to his studies in notarial law, he completed various tax law courses and obtained his “civil effect” (Dutch law qualification). From 2005 to 2013, Nick worked at De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek N.V. During his tenure at De Brauw, he lived and worked in New York for two years. After a period as an in-house legal counsel, Nick returned to notarial practice. In 2015, he completed the postgraduate program in Mergers and Acquisitions at the VU Law Academy. In 2021, Nick was sworn in as assigned notary at AKD N.V. In 2025, he joined Meijer Notarissen as a partner, succeeding civil law notary mr Maarten R. Meijer.
Practice Areas
At Meijer Notarissen, Nick runs a diverse practice, advising clients not only on corporate law but also on real estate law and family law. He specializes in the notarial aspects of mergers and acquisitions and in structuring the governance of semi-public institutions (such as housing associations, healthcare institutions, utility companies, and public benefit organizations). He also assists with the formation and amendment of articles of association for private law ventures of between municipalities and provinces.
Personal Life and Interests
Nick lives with his family in Amstelveen. He enjoys running half marathons, cycling, skiing, and golfing. He is an alumnus of Round Table 86 Amsterdam Amstelland. Nick is a member of the Foundation Friends of Surinamese Law, an organization dedicated to the legal development of Suriname.
